Animated movies and series are often seen as a source of entertainment and amusement for kids. While most creations have a core younger target audience, a good story, especially with socially relevant themes and interesting characters, will always find a universal audience. In today’s collection, I am taking inspiration from the latest Disney-Pixar movie, Hoppers, currently enjoying global box-office success, being loved by young and old alike.
Hoppers tells the story of Mabel Tanaka from Beaverton, a young, animal-lover and environmentalist who decides to oppose the mayor’s plans to convert the forest glade into a freeway. When she finds her professor and scientist, Dr. Sam’s “hopping” technology, she transfers her consciousness into a robotic beaver, hoping to communicate with the animals and save their homes, which brings a revolution in the animal kingdom.
Directed by Daniel Chong, Hoppers is written by Jesse Andrews, who also co-wrote Pixar’s Luca (2021), based on a story by both Chong and Andrews. Released worldwide on March 6, Hoppers achieved the highest opening for an original Pixar movie since the Academy Award winner, Coco, in 2017.

Here’s a fun illustration of Ellen, the grumpy bear and the robotic beaver with Mabel’s consciousness, staying true to their personalities; always hungry bear playfully biting an enthusiastic beaver.
Ellen Bear, Grumpy Brown Bear

Humungous in size, Ellen Bear needs to eat at short intervals for her sustenance and can become grumpy when others try to slow her down, just like the illustration here. Don’t let the image fool you; this big brown bear is a loyal friend and believes in community spirit.
Sam, Scientist And Creator Of “Hopping” Technology

Dr. Samantha Emily Fairfax is the head scientist at Beaverton University and the creator of the hopping technology which can transfer human consciousness into an artificial animal. Although she is a scientist, she gets easily flustered and worries about the implications of her inventions getting into the hands of the wrong people.
Diane Shark, A Shark Assassin

The Insect King Titus hires a shark assassin, Diane the Shark, to eliminate Mayor Jerry in a revolt against the humans. Contrary to the seriousness of her job, Diane is well-mannered and professional. Look at her grinning wide and showing her teeth-y smile in this illustration.
King George, A Beaver Monarch

The jovial monarch of the beavers, King George, helps the animals displaced from the glades due to the proposed project. When Mabel hops into a robotic beaver, she meets King George and grows close to him, both working towards saving the glade and the return of the animals.
Loaf, A Staunch Beaver

Loaf is a beaver who got the name because he resembles a loaf of bread, stout and light yellow. As you can see in this illustration, Loaf can be lazy and is not the brightest mind, but he believes in nature’s law and “Pond Rules”, the rules of their land.
Insect Prince, Young Titus

This here is the Insect Prince, a caterpillar, before he turns into the antagonist, Insect King Titus. You can see him throwing a tantrum here in this illustration, displaying his unscrupulous personality even as a young creature. Be sure to color some green with black stripes and a light yellow on the underside.

The Insect Queen is not only the butterfly monarch but the most powerful member of the Animal Council. As an insect, she understands how her subjects have been subjugated in the food chain by others, especially humans.
Mabel Tanaka, The Animal Loving Protagonist

Jerry Generazzo is the mayor of Beaverton, more focused on the power of his seat than the responsibility that comes with it. When his life is threatened by the animal uprising caused by Mabel in a robotic beaver, he is compelled to re-evaluate things.
Fish Queen From Hoppers Movie

You can gather from the expression on her face that the Fish Queen has a serious demeanor and a strict personality. Pink in color with white underside, the Fish Queen lives in a bowl and wears green seaweed with a crown on her head.
Reptile Queens, Snake Sister Monarchs

Representing the reptiles is a trio of snakes with frightening personalities, prepared to strike anyone if angered. They may look the same in this illustration, but you can distinguish them by their colors red, yellow, and green.
Titus, The Insect King

The entitled young prince caterpillar turns into Titus, the cruel Insect King monarch butterfly, bearing a malicious and cunning expression as illustrated on this coloring page. Featuring deep orange wings with black edges, Titus has a sinister plan not just for humans but also for other animals.
Tom Lizard From Hoppers

Tom Lizard is not a fan of conflict and always tries to avoid it. He is one of the animals that Mabel gets to know when she hops into a robotic beaver. Sea green in color, Tom Lizard has a rather curious personality that often gets him into trouble.
On that curious note, I’ am ending today’s exciting collection of Hoppers coloring pages.
