It’s the tail end of February, and soon the month of love will give way to the month of spring, March, the third month of the Gregorian calendar. I have curated today’s collection of coloring pages inspired by the upcoming events and the seasonal changes you can witness in March.
March gets its name from the 10-month Roman Calendar where it was the first month, Martius, after the Roman god of war, Mars. Aside from military preparation, the first Roman month also marked a return to active farming for the ancient Roman people. Even today, in some cultures, the New Year celebrations are held in March.
The change from February to March can also be seen through the changing season, from winter to spring. For those living in the Northern Hemisphere, spring begins in March, with most plants sprouting to life and flowers starting to blossom like the clovers and daffodils, which is also the birth flower.
