Happy Read Across America Day, folks! I bet you didn’t know the day commemorates Dr. Seuss’ birthday, who changed the world of reading for kids. Born on 2nd March 1904, Theodore Seuss Geisel, fondly known as Dr. Seuss, has entertained generations of children with his fun books, such as “The Cat in the Hat”, “ How the Grinch Stole Christmas!”, “Horton Hears a Who” and more. In the process, he cultivated an interest in reading among millions of kids. Dr. Seuss’ efforts can be seen in the fact that his books are as popular with kids today as they were in the last few decades.

Cindy-Lou Who
Cindy-Lou Who is one of the main characters from “How the Grinch Stole Christmas!” She is a sweet, little girl who empathizes with Grinch and feels that he is just a misunderstood man, not a bad one. She even helps Grinch return every item he has stolen from the people of Whoville.

All Tall Guys
Just like the Cat, even the All Tall Guys appeared in several of Dr. Seuss’s books, namely “Hop on Pop” and “Green Eggs and Ham”. All four guys appear wearing orange jumpsuits and have the same features and expressions. But I would suggest you give different colors to each guy.
Mr. Fox
Mr. Fox is the protagonist of the book, “Fox in Socks”. Mr. Fox is a red-colored fox who wears blue socks on his feet and hands. He speaks in rhymes and travels around with Mr. Knox.
The Grinch
The Grinch is another popular character from the realm of Dr. Seuss’ universe. This anti-hero with a sour attitude and wicked temper is the resident of Whoville and detests Christmas. In reality, he hates all the people of Who as he is from a different species called What and cannot stand seeing them happy.
Horton
Meet Horton, the protagonist of the book, “Horton Hears A Who!” This elephant is indeed “a person’s a person, no matter how small” as he does everything possible and endures all kinds of harassment for the safety of the people of Whoville, who are microscopic characters.

Lorax
Meet Lorax, the protagonist of the book with the same name. He’s a grumpy, but caring creature who has immense love for the environment, especially the truffula trees. He wants the best for every creature in the world and fights tooth and nail to prevent the forest from being ruined by the loggers.
Marvin K Mooney
Marvin K. Mooney is the main character in Dr. Seuss’ “Marvin K. Mooney Will You Please Go Now!” The narrator is an individual, possibly Marvin’s father or grandfather, who wants him to ‘Go’, but where, is unknown. It’s presumed that the individual wants Marvin to go to bed since he appears in his pajamas, but Marvin isn’t ready to.
Mr. Knox
Mr. Knox, formally known as Mr. Box Knox in Box is a friend of Mr. Fox, who wears a yellow jumper and carries an orange box, in which he sometimes lives. Mr. Fox tries to teach Mr. Knox some tongue twisters, but he fails. But towards the end of the book, he defeats Mr. Fox in his own tongue-twisting game and leaves happily.
Oh, The Places You’ll Go
“Oh, The Places You’ll Go”, is one of the most emotional stories of Dr. Seuss, where he encourages readers to find the joys of life, even while facing challenges. It teaches the readers to appreciate and celebrate every little and big milestone, from birthdays to graduations and beyond.

Every year, on the 2nd of March, which happens to be Dr. Seuss’ birthday, we celebrate how awesome reading is with Read Across America Day. The National Education Association (NEA) founded this day to celebrate this legendary figure who brought the joys of reading back by writing easy and fun books for kids.
National Reading Month Coloring Page
The month of March is also celebrated as National Reading Month in America. The month of March was chosen to honor our very own Dr. Seuss, whose birthday falls on the 2nd of March. The month encourages people of all ages to read as much as they can, together as a family or with friends. Even better would be to join book clubs and participate in reading activities and competitions.

Sally
Sally is the cute and pretty daughter of Joan Walden and one of the primary characters of “The Cat in the Hat”. She is a light-skinned 6-year-old with yellow hair, which she decorates with a pink hairband. So use these colors to fill this illustration of Sally Walden.
Sally’s’ Brother, Conrad
Here’s a coloring page of Sally’s troublemaking brother, Conrad. Both the kids were alone in the house when the Cat arrived with his crate. He specifically tells the children not to open the crate, but Conrad, being who he is, opens the crate, which leads to a huge mess.
Sam-I-Am

Back in 1954, literacy was a concern in America because the kids took little to no interest in reading. They found books boring and had no motivation to read. That’s when the director of education at the Houghton Mifflin Company asked Dr. Seuss to write a book with just 250 words, which the first graders must know. That’s when he came up with “The Cat in the Hat”.
Thing 1 Thing 2
Anyone aware of Dr. Seuss and his works would be familiar with Thing 1 and Thing 2, also known as Bim and Ben. These creatures sprang out from the box the Cat had brought to the Walden’s house. Both of them are highly reckless and extremely mischievous and cause havoc in the home.
Yertle The Turtle
Yertle the Turtle was the main character in Seuss’ “’ Yertle the Turtle and Other Stories”. He has appeared in multiple books of Dr. Seuss, namely, “The Wubbulous World of Dr. Seuss”, “In Search of Dr. Seuss” and “The Tortoise King”.

Guy Am I or Walter Guy, is the grouchy guy from Dr. Seuss’ “Green Eggs and Ham” book who absolutely detests the green eggs and ham offered by Sam, right until the end of the story.
Once-Ler
Here’s a coloring page of Once-Ler, the narrator of Dr. Seuss’ “The Lorax”. He is the greedy businessman who wants to cut down the Truffula Trees to make a garment called Thneed. Guilt gets better of him at the end of the book, leading him to live like a recluse in Lerkim.
