In today’s printable collection, I bring you coloring pages inspired by Flag Day, celebrating the national flag of the United States.
Flag Day commemorates the day when the United States adopted its national flag on June 14, 1777, featuring thirteen alternating red and white stripes and a blue rectangle canton with thirteen stars. First proposed in 1861 during the American Civil War, June 14 was designated as Flag Day by President Woodrow Wilson in 1916, but it was not until 1949 the National Flag Day was officially established.

Betsy Ross is credited for designing the first American flag in 1776, according to her family, post her death, and the legend has remained. Ross was an upholsterer who also stitched flags for the military, and as illustrated here, cut and stitched the first U.S. flag.
